WOMEN'S BASKETBALL IMPROVES TO 14-0

(Billings, MT) The Pioneers were looking to stay perfect as they hit the road on Tuesday, January 8 to face Yellowstone Christian College in Billings, MT.  MCC had a hard time finding the basket all night long, which allowed YCC to hang around.  The Pioneers took just an 11 point lead into the locker room at the half, with a score of 33-22.  MCC was able to pull away slightly in the second half, but were still unsuccessful at finding any sort of a rhythm.  Shooting just 37.5% from the field, the Pioneers were lucky to get away with this one, 64-47.

Patrycja Jaworska led the Pioneers in scoring with 15, followed by Caitlyn Barkins with 11.  Lucia Salazar had six rebounds to lead the team and Bre Moea'i led in assits with six.

After this game, the Pioneers remain perfect at 14-0 and currently sit at #22 in the nation after yesterday's national poll was released.  The Pioneers are one of just five NJCAA Div I schools that are still undefeated.

MCC starts a difficult road trip Thursday, January 10 when they head to Bismarck, ND to face Bismarck State.  The Pioneers will then travel to Jamestown, ND to play the Jamestown College JV and then finish the trip on Sunday in Wahpeton, ND when they meet the MonDak defending champs, NDSCS.
