JAWORSKA SCORES 28 TO LEAD PIONEERS PAST MYSTICS

(Miles City, MT) The conference leading Pioneers faced the #2 Mystics of Bismarck State for the third time this season on Thursday evening in the Kailey Gymnasium.  MCC won the first two meetings, but started out slowly and let the Mystics pull away with a 9 point lead at one point in the first quarter.  After a poor shooting first quarter, the Pioneers came out strong in the second, outscoring the Mystics 22-8 to take a 34-29 lead into halftime.  In the third quarter, the Pioneers built the score up to a 13 point lead, but the Mystics fought hard and were able to pull it back within six.  However, back-to-back threes by Kylee Meredith and Patrycja Jaworska would put the game away for MCC with a final score of 72-56.  The Pioneers had 19 steals in the game and forced 33 total turnovers. MCC improves to 22-0 on the season and 7-0 in conference play.

Patrycja Jaworska was the high scorer with 28 points, followed by Claire Borot with 13.  Borot led with eight rebounds, followed by Meredith with six.  Jaworska led the team in assits with four.  Meredith led the team with four steals.

The Pioneers will travel to Bismarck to face United Tribes Technical College on Monday at 4:30 pm Mountain time.
