PIONEERS DEFEAT ROYALS TO STAY PERFECT

(Devil's Lake, ND)  Three Pioneers scored in double digits to pace MCC past Lake Region on Wednesday night in Devil's Lake, ND.  Lake Region got out to an early lead and when the first quarter came to an end, MCC found themselves down 13-14.  The Pioneers outscored the Royals 21-16 in the second quarter to take a 34-30 lead into halftime.  The Royals shot 50% from the field and 57% from three, helping them to hang with the Pioneers.  It wasn't until late in the fourth quarter that the Pioneers were able to get a little breathing room and open up a sizable lead on the Royals.  The Pioneers defeated Lake Region, 81-66 to move to 24-0 on the season and 9-0 in the conference.  

Patrycja Jaworska was the leading scorer with 19, followed by Lucia Salazar with 14 and Bre Moea'i with 10.  Salazar and Moea'i led in rebounding with four boards each.  Jaworska, Salazar, and Laura Moya each had 5 assists.  Jaworksa collected seven steals on the night.

The Pioneers will return home on Sunday, February 10 when they face the Wildcats of NDSCS in the Kailey Gymnasium at 1:00 pm.
