MOYA DEMURES HEADING TO OPSU

Laura signing

(Miles City, MT) Laura Moya Demures is planning to continue her career as a student athlete next season at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) in Goodwell, OK.

Laura is originally from Barcelona, Spain.  After two years at MCC, Laura will graduate with an A.S. degree, emphasis in Physical Education.

"I know that I have been playing at the hardest level and on the hardest team," Moya Demures commented on her time in Miles City.  " Because of this, I know that I am totally ready to show off what I have learned at MCC.  I have learned so much, not just on the court, but as a student, teammate, player, and person."

Former head coach, Nate Vogel is extremely proud of Moya Demures, "I can't wait to see what Laura accomplishes at the 4 year level.  She is one of the best teammates I've ever had the pleasure to coach.  She is invaluable to a team's chemistry and culture.  She is a coach's dream.  A selfless player who truly cares more about the team winning than her individual stats.  Oklahoma Panhandle gets a combo deal with this one….great basketball player, possibly even better cheerleader!!"

Laura is looking forward to the future,  "I just want to have fun and play my hardest in the last two years as a college athlete." Moya Demures commented.

"We are extremely excited to have Laura join our program, commented OPSU Head Coach, Victor Esparza.  "She makes us better instantly because of her leadership on and off the court. The main thing that drew me to Laura was her ability to defend and her toughness. Our future is bright with her signing with us."

Oklahoma Pandhandle State University is a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference within the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Division I.
