Salawu's Huge Night Leads MCC to Upset Win

Binta Salawu poured in 44 points, dished out 5 assists and Claire Borot recored a double double as she chipped in 19 points to go along with 12 rebounds as MCC built a 19 point 3rd quarter league and held on late to upset Bismarck State 82-78 at the MCC Centra. Salawu and Claire Borot combined for 63 of MCC's 82 points as Borot hit for 19 points and 12 rebounds on the night. BSC's Amber Stevahn scored 32 points and Courtney Olson added 25 but the Mystics couldn't get enough help in the loss.

The Lady Pioneers ran their record to 9-8 and 1-0 in MonDak play. Bismarck State (0-1, 14-3) never led during the contest and MCC dominated the boards with a 52-37 edge over the Mystics. Amazingly, the Lady Pioneers survived 29 turnovers on the night and BSC struggled from the foul line (24-38). Miles will host North Dakota College of Science on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM MST.
