Pioneers Hold on Late To Defeat Bottineau

Freshman Guard Olyvia Pacheco (Rawlins, WY) recorded a 19 point, 10 rebound double double to lead the MonDak Conference leading MCC Pioneers to a 78-70 win on the road in Bottineau, ND. Claire Borot (Martinique, France) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds while Binta Salawu added 12 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds as Miles moved to 5-0 in MonDak play and 13-8 overall. Sophmore KP Hoffman came up big with a couple late baskets after the Lady Jacks had cut what once was a 14 point lead to 2 in the fourth quarter. 

The victory was the Lady Pioneer's 21st consecutive conference win since returning to the MonDak Conference last season. MCC survived a cold shooting night (37% FG, 26% 3's) by outrebounding DCB 44-34 and forcing 18 turnovers. MCC also shot 15-18 from the free throw line. Sydnie Nelson led the Lady Jacks (1-4, 9-12) with 22 points.

The Pioneers will host rival Dawson on Sunday at 1:00 PM at the MCC Centra.
