MCC Basketball Hosting Two Special Event Games This Week

On Wednesday, February 24, the Miles Community College women's basketball team will be hosting their 2nd Annual Play4Kay night vs. NDSCS. Tip time for the game is 5:30 PM MST.  Play4Kay is an annual fundraising effort by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which is an organization started by Sandra Kay Yow in 2007 with a vision  to support advanced research, extend the quality of life for those battling cancer, serve the underserved, and unite people.  The MCC women's basketball team has an ongoing fundraiser in which they will donate $1 for every made free throw for the month of February.  So far this month, MCC has donated $153 for the Kay Yow National Free Throw Challenge.  To learn more or to donate, visit kayyow.com

On Thursday February 25, MCC will host Australian Indigenous Awareness night.  This night is designed to educate our community about the Indigenous people of Australia, and how the Indigenous Basketball Australia organization provides opportunities for indigenous Australians to play basketball while embracing their culture.  Freshman Rebekah Dallinger and fellow freshman from North Dakota State College of Science Ambah Kowcun were teammates on the 2019 Indigenous Basketball Australia All-Star team.  The first 100 fans to the game will get a free t-shirt with a unique design for the game designed by Australian Indigenous Artist, Krystal Dallinger, Rebekah Dallinger's cousin.  To learn more or to donate, visit indigenousbasketballaustralia.com/
