Pioneer Women Inch Closer to Conference Title

Rebekah Dallinger (Sydney, Australia) scored 31 points (10-23 FG, 1-1 3's, 10-17 FT's) and grabbed 7 rebounds while Jana Conejero hit the game winning free throws to break a 65-all tie and Dawson could not get the basket they needed on the final possession as the MCC Pioneers remained unbeaten with a 67-65 win in Glendive on Sunday. Conjereo was the only other Pioneer in double figures as she scored 11 points (3-12 FG, 0-4 3's, 5-6 FT) and also had 4 assists.

Dawson used a 17-3 run late in the first quarter to take a 26-15 lead but MCC chipped away over the last 3 quarters to squeak out the victory. Kate Tanner (Melbourne, Australia) led the Pioneers with 10 rebounds while Olyvia Pacheco (Rawlins, WY) and Lili Long (Melbourne, Australia) each added 9 rebounds. The PIoneers struggled at the free throw line connecting on only 21-32 attempts. MCC also had 20 turnovers that led to 26 Dawson points.

The Pioneers can clinch the MonDak Conference regular season title and host all playoff games with a win against United Tribes on Thursday night in Miles City. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM MST.
