The MCC Pioneer women made the trip to the "Woodshed" in Bottineau, ND and jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first 3 minutes for a wire to wire 70-62 win. The Lumberjacks ralled from the 12-0 deficit to cut the lead to 15-14 but the Pioneers stretched the lead to 17 points in the 2nd quarter before settling for a 40-31 halftime lead. Each time the Lumberjacks rallied the Pioneers would have the answer to told off any chance of a Lumberjack win.
India Blyth (Melbourne, Australia) had the hot hand for the Pioneers scoring 22 points (8-13 FG, 6-10 3's), collecting 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Jessica Tomkins (Melbourne, Australia) was the only other Pioneer in double figures with 16 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 FT) to go along with 9 rebounds. Julia Paoletta (Buenos Aires, Argentina) go the Pioneer offense rolling with 8 assists and Ella Paleaae-Cook had a stong overall game with 7 points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3's), 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
