Shooting Woes Continue for Pioneer Women

Pioneers 50... NDSCS 80

Ivy Fox (6'0 Freshman) scored 16 points (7-14 FG, 2-3 FT) and grabbed 10 rebounds leading 5 Wildcats in double figures as NDSCS routed Miles CC 80-50 on Monday afternoon in Miles City, MT. Grace Massaqoi (5'10 Freshman) also had a double-double with 10 points (5-14 FG, 0-2 3's, 0-1 FT) and 10 rebounds as the Wildcats never trailed in the contest. 

Nadia Post (5'7 Sophomore) had 15 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3's, 2-2 FT) off the bench while Arianna Berryhill (5'11 Freshman) added 14 points (4-10 FG, 2-7 3's, 4-4 FT), and Charity Lewis (6'7 Freshman) had 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-4 3's, 2-6 FT). 

No Pioneer reached double figures but a trio of players scored 9 points. Angelina Dimasi (3-8 FG, 3-6 FT), Jessica Tomkins (4-11 FG, 1-2 FG), and Becky Melcher (3-8 FG, 3-7 3's) each had 9 and Tomkins led the team with 8 rebounds.

  • NDSCS shot 30-68 (44%) from the field and 6-17 (35%) from 3-point line. There hit 14-20 (70%) from the free throw line. 
  • The Pioneers shot 17-56 (30%) from the field and 6-17 (35%) from the 3-point line. MCC was 10-18 (56%) at the free throw line. 
  • NDSCS outrebounded the Pioneers 46-33. 16 of the Wilcats rebounds were offensive. MCC had 9.
  • The Pioneers had 20 turnovers and the Wildcats had 15. 

NDSCS leads the MonDak Conference with a 9-1 record and they are 16-3 overall. MCC fell to 2-8 in MonDak play and 5-14 overall. MCC heads to Dakota College at Bottineau on Sunday, January 22.
