The MCC Pioneers hung in with Region IX Western Nebraska for much of the 1st quarter but a 12-2 scoring run by the Cougars over the final 3:00 minutes led to a 21-11 1st quarter lead and Western Nebraska took that momentum to the 2nd quarter and led 45-24 at halftime. 

The Western Nebraska lead grew to as many as 45 points halfway thru the 4th quarter as the Cougars improved to 11-3 on the season. 

The Pioneers were led in scoring by Hannah Wildner (Melbourne, Australia) with 11 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3's, 3-3 FT). Lainey Smith (Miles City, MT) and Isabella Gurie (Columbus, MT) each added 8 points. Skyler Neumann (Fallon, MT) grabbed a team high 6 rebounds.

  • The Pioneers shot 20-48 (42%) from the field and 3-17 from the 3-point line. MCC hit 10-15 from the free throw line. 
  • The Cougars shot 32-68 (47%) from the field and 12-32 from the 3-point line. WNCC hit 19-24 at the free throw line.

  • Western Nebraska had a 35-24 edge on the boards and that included 18 offensive rebounds. The Pioneers had 9 offensive rebounds.
