
Pioneers 63... Northwest College 108
The Northwest College Trappers shot 17-24 (71%) from the field in the 1st quarter and racked up 39 points enroute to a resounding 108-63 non conference win over the Miles Community College Pioneers Thursday night in Miles City. The Trappers cooled off a bit in the 2nd quarter but then outscored the Pioneers 29-9 in the 3rd quarter shooting 70% from the field again.
All 5 starters and one bench player scored in double figures for Northwest College led by a 19 point (9-10 FG, 1-2 FT) effort from Jai'La Porter (Colorado Springs, CO). Emma Pique (Llovaneres, Spain), Sydnee Harris (Rock Springs, WY), Bianca Silva (Florianopolis, Brazil), and Kelsi Nicholson (Burlington, WY) all scored 12 points in a balance Trapper attack.
Lainey Smith (Miles City, MT) led MCC with 18 points (5-11 FG, 5-9 3's, 3-4 FT) and the Pioneers got 38 points off of the bench with the help of 14 points (5-10 FG, 1-1 3's, 3-4 FT) from Jessica Makayabo (Eastlake, TX) and 10 points (3-7 FG, 1-1 3's, 3-5 FT) from Gracie Anderson (Harlowton, MT). Pien Draisma (Kratwijk, Netherlands) led the Pioneers with 5 rebounds.
