CASTRO SIGNS WITH PIONEER VOLLEYBALL

The Miles Community College volleyball team has announced that Celsa Castro will be joining the Pioneers for the 2019-2020 season.

Castro is a 5'2" D/S and setter from Roundup, MT.  She attends and played High School volleyball at Roundup High School.

Celsa is a member of National Honor Society and Student Council.  She is also a Science Olympiad and R Club member.

Castro is a multi-sport athlete playing basketball, volleyball and track.  On the volleyball court, Castro was Academic All-State all four years of high school.  She was All-Conference Honorable Mention her junior year and National Tournament Team Honorable Mention her senior year. Celsa was a captain her senior year and led the Roundup Panthers to a 3rd Place finish at State Volleyball.

Castro is the daughter of Laura Goffena of Roundup, MT.   While at MCC, Castro plans to work towards her Associate of Science-Nursing.

Castro on attending MCC: "I'm pursuing a career in nursing and Miles Community College has one of the best nursing programs in Montana.  During my visit to campus I was very pleased with the size of the college and the amount of help the students get.  The cost to attend is very reasonable and affordable.  Overall Miles Community College is the perfect college for me to attend."

Coach Soennichsen on Castro: "Roundup has been producing great students/athletes for years and we are fortunate to have Celsa at MCC for the next two seasons.  She will immediately add depth to our defense and offense with her knowledge of the game.  We can't wait to see what she does at the next level as a Pioneer."
