The MCC Pioneer Volleyball hung in there in Thursday's opening match but ultimately fell 0-3 to Region IX powerhouse Casper College. The Pioneers led game 1 24-21 but missed out on 3 set points. Casper squeaked out game 1 27-25 and then took a grip of the match winning sets 2 and 3 by the score of 25-17.

Billings native Samantha Bonenberger led the Pioneers with 2 aces and 20 assists. Matilda Dietz of Manhattan had 17 digs, Haley Kuske led team with 3.5 blocks and Hardin Freshman Mariah Simmons was the team leader in kills with 7. 

MCC plays Sheridan College this morning at 8:00 AM and then Northwest College at 12:00 PM.
