Pioneer Volleyball Goes 1-3 in Sheridan

MCC Pioneer Volleyball suffered 2 tough 5 game matches but rallied Saturday for one win and another loss and went 1-3 in the Sheridan Classic. 

Friday say the Pioneers play well but lose 2-3 to Sheridan College and Eastern Wyoming. 

On Saturday, MCC lost 0-3 to Western Wyoming and then avenged Tuesday's loss at Northwest College with a 3-0 victory to close out the weekend. 

Weekend leaders for the Pioneers were Mariah Simmons (Hardin, MT) with 42 kills. Samantha Bonenberger (Billings, MT) had 108 assists. Hailee Kuske (New England, ND) had 13 blocks while Libero Matilda Dietz (Manhattan, MT ) had50 digs and 8 aces. 

After the 1-3 weekend, the Pioneers season record moved to 3-8 overall as MonDak Conference play opens up this week. 

MCC will host North Dakota State College of Science in conference opener on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Lake Region State College comes to the MCC Centra on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. 

Coach Chase Soennichsen was very happy with the weekend. "It was a great weekend!  We competed well with every team and just need to find a way to finish out and win the close matches."
