Pioneer Volleyball Drops Match To Rocky Mountain College JV

Pioneers 0... Rocky JV 3 (17-25, 23-25, 12-25)

Rocky Mountain College JV travelled to the MCC Centra for a non-conference match on Thursday night and turned away the Pioneers bid for their 1st victory of the season.

The Bears cruised to a convincing win in game 1 behind some strong front line hitting. MCC battled in game 2 tying the score at 23 but saw Rocky score the final 2 points to take a 2-0 lead. Game 3 was similar to game 1 as the Bears swept the Pioneers with a 25-12 win.

The Huntley Project alumni front line of Josee Krum and Macy Limberhand were the bright spot at the net for the Pioneers. Krum had 10 kills and Limberhand added 7 kills, a season high 6 blocks, and also a leam leading 8 digs. Trynadee Goldsberry (Laurel, MT) had 20 assists to lead the Pioneers. Krum and Lyndsey Kale (Shepherd, MT) each had an ace in the match.

The Pioneers will travel to Bismarck, ND today for a non-conference match against Minnesota State Community & Technical College. The Spartans finished 3rd at the NJCAA Division III Volleyball tournament last year and are 10-5 this year and 6-0 in conference. The match will start at 5:00 PM MST at Bismarck State College.
