Pioneer Chop Lumberjacks for MonDak Conference Win

Pioneers 3... Dakota College at Bottineau 2 (15-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-19, 16-14)

Sophomore Josee Krum (Worden, MT) had a career high 23 kills and added 3 aces and 14 digs to lead the MCC Pioneers to a thrilling 5-game victory over Dakota College at Bottineau. The victory was the first for the Pioneers in MonDak Conference action and 1st against a fellow NJCAA opponent. 

Fellow Huntley Project grads also had big hands in the victory. Sophomore Macy Limberhand (Worden, MT) had 8 blocks at the net and also served up 3 aces. Freshman Cearra Oblander (Worden, MT) got the hitters going with 45 assists on the night. Park High (Livingston, MT) grad Skylar Higgs had a big night in the back row with 36 digs. Lyndsey Kale (Shepherd, MT) had a solid night with 8 kills, 15 digs, and 3 aces. Hannah Kingham (Roundup, MT) also had 3 aces, 7 kills, and 3 blocks.

The Pioneers rallied from a 1-2 deficit to win game 4 and then trailed 6-2 in game 5 before rallying for the victory. MCC is 1-9 in MonDak Conference play and 2-20 overall. Williston State comes to town tonight for the final home game of the season at 7:00 PM. MCC will head to Casper, WY on Saturday for a non-conference tilt against Casper College and then travel to Dawson on Wednesday, Oct. 19 for the final game of the regular season.
