Williston State Tops Pioneers in Final Home Match

Williston State Tops Pioneers in Final Home Match

Pioneers 1... Williston State 3 (25-22, 9-25, 20-25, 14-25)

The final home game of the 2022 season ended in disappointment as the visiting Williston State Tetons shook off a 1st game defeat to rally and win the next 3 for a MonDak Conference victory. The Pioneers were riding the waves of a 2-game winning streak after dropping the first 20 games of the season. The Pioneers had defeated Dakota College on Tuesday night and used that momentum to earn a 25-22 win in game 1.

Williston State gained all of the momentum in game 2 handling the Pioneers in easy fashion with a 25-9 win. That springboarded the Tetons to wins in games 3 & 4 and moved them to a 3-way tie for 4th place in the conference (4-7). The Pioneers dropped to 1-10 in league play and 2-21 overall. The final conference game of the season is next Wednesday at Dawson CC. The Pioneers will also travel to Casper College on Saturday for a non-conference game against the NJCAA D1 T-Birds.

Josee Krum (Worden, MT) had 14 kills and 15 digs to lead the Pioneers in those categories. Macy Limberhand (Worden, MT) had 8 blocks at the net while adding 7 kills and 10 digs. Freshman Cearra Oblander (Worden, MT) contributed 28 assists and 6 blocks on the night. Skylar Higgs (Livingston, MT) had 13 digs and Lyndsey Kale (Shepherd, MT) led the team with 4 service aces.
