Pioneers 1... Northwest College 3 (17-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-27)

The Pioneers gave Region IX powerhouse Northwest College a strong challenge but were edged in close sets in both set 3 and 4 as the Trappers defeated the Pioneers 3-1. 

MCC got 29 digs from Ashtynn Egan (Colstrip, MT) and 26 more from Bree Swanson (Chinook, MT) to keep the ball alive from the powerful Trapper team and Ruby Gray (Billings, MT) had 3 blocks to aid the defensive effort. 

Maria Stewart (Billings, MT) dished out 33 assists including 16 to Kodiann Lynn (Simms, MT) who led MCC in kills and Lynn also had 2 aces. 

Pioneers 3... Minnesota State Community and Techincal College 0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-19)

MCC took control early and dominated Minnesota State to complete the Bismarck State Mystic Invite with a 2-2 record heading home for the 1st match of the season in Miles City on Tuesday night. 

Maria Stewart had 22 assists, Kodiann Lynn had 8 kills, and Bailey Nowicki (Miles City, MT) had 3 aces to lead the Pioneer offense. Bree Swanson had 17 digs and Jayda Southworth (Winifred, MT) had 2 blocks at the net. 

MCC will play Rocky Mountain College JV Tuesday night at 7:00 PM in the MCC Centra.
