Pioneer Volleyball Takes Down Lumberjacks in Bottineau

Pioneers 3... Dakota College at Bottineau 0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-21)

The MCC Pioneers hit I-94 for it's last regular season road trip and clawed past a pesky Bottineau team 3-0 on Tuesday night in Bottineau. 

Playing again without a few injured/sick players, the Pioneers snagged an important conference victory. MCC now stands in a tie for 3rd place with Lake Region State College at 5-5 in league play. MCC is 11-10 overall. 

Offensively for the Pioneers, Maria Stewart (Pryor, MT) dished out 34 assists and have 2 service aces. At the net, Leah Champlin (Billings, MT) had 14 kills, Kodiann Lynn (Simms, MT) had 9, and Ashtynn Egan (Colstrip, MT) added 8. 

Defensively, Egan had 22 digs, Bree Swanson (Chinook, MT) had 19, Lynn added 18, and Stewart had 17. Hattie Bumgarner (Belt, MT) had 3 blocks at the net. 

MCC will be back in action Wednesday night at Williston State for another conference match against the Tetons at 6:00 PM MST.
