Pioneers 1... Williston State 3 (20-25, 18-25, 25-22, 20-25)

The MCC Pioneer volleyball season came to an end on Sunday afternoon in Williston, ND. Williston State powered past the Pioneers in 4 games to earn a trip to the Region XIII Semifinal on Wednesday at Bismarck State. 

The Pioneers could not get anything rolling early and quickly fell behind 2-0 after 2 games. MCC tried to mount a comeback by winning game 3 but the Tetons closed the door in game 4 with a 25-20 win. 

MCC was led defensively by Bree Swanson (Chinook, MT) and Ashtynn Egan (Colstrip, MT) with 16 digs each. Hattie Bumgarner (Belt, MT) had 5 blocks. The lone sophomore in the Pioneer program Maria Stewart (Pryor, MT) had 37 assists and 12 digs. 

Kodiann Lynn (Simms, MT) had 14 kills and the lone ace in the match while Egan added 12 kills. 

The Pioneers finish the season with a 12-12 record and a 9-win improvement from the 2022 season.
