Pioneers 1... Rocky JV 3 (20-25, 21-25, 25-23, 22-25)

One night removed from disposing of MonDak Conference rival Dawson in Glendive, the Pioneer volleyball team hit the road the other direction for a non-conference matchup with Rocky Mountain College JV in Billings. Not only did the bus head in the other direction it did the previous day, the Pioneers went in the other direction with a 1-3 loss to the Bears. 

The Pioneers just couldn't get anything going early on as the Bears took a quick 2-0 lead. The Pioneers rallied to win game 3 and give themselves hope but the Bears closed the door on that idea by winning game 4 to surprise Miles CC. 

Zeason Schaffer (Broadus, MT) led MCC with 15 kills and Bailey Nowicki (Miles City, MT) set up the hitters with 34 assists. Bree Swanson (Chinook, MT) had 23 digs and Ruby Gray (Billings, MT) had a season high 8 blocks and accounted for the only ace for the Pioneers in the match. 

MCC fell to 9-12 on the season and continue to set at 4-3 in league play. The Pioneers will have another non-conference match at Jamestown JV on Monday followed by conference matches Tuesday at NDSCS (Wahpeton, ND) and Wednesday at LRSC (Devils Lake, ND). All of those matches will start at 6:00 PM MST.
