Pioneer Win Streak Hits 4 With Resounding Win Over Williston State

Pioneers 3... Williston State 0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-16)

From an ace on the opening serve to a kill on the final point, the Miles Community College Pioneers dominated the Williston State College Tetons on Tuesday night in Miles City. Bailey Nowicki (Miles City, MT) started the match off with an ace and then guided the Pioneers to a quick 8-0 lead and everything came easy for the Pioneers from that point forward.

In a match that lasted just over one hour, the Pioneers took a firm grip on 3rd place in the MonDak Conference standings in hopes of getting a bye in the 1st round of the Region XIII Playoffs.

Nowicki finished the match with 6 aces and 35 assists. Zeason Schaffer (Broadus, MT) smacked 16 kills and Kodiann Lynn (Simms, MT) connected on her 500th career kill during play. Ashtynn Egan (Colstrip, MT) and Cameron Blevins (Shelby, MT) each had 16 digs on the night and Hattie Bumgarner (Belt, MT) had 3 blocks.

Miles moved to 6-4 in MonDak Conference play and 13-14 overall after winning their 4th straight match. There is a quick turnaround as the Pioneers host Dakota College at Bottineau on Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM for elementary school game day.
